TransInvest mourns Werner Albert

St. Gallen, September 10, 2020. On September 8, Werner Albert passed away. He was 80 years old. Werner Albert was long-time Chairman of the Board and one of the main shareholders of the TransInvest Group.

In his management positions, Werner Albert was substantial in successfully steering the TransInvest Group through the ups and downs of the past decades.

Werner Albert is regarded as one of the major architects of today’s indispensable and successful railway traffics in connection with the former Soviet Union. In his function as Vice Chairman of the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) and Honorary Chairman of the Group of European Trans-Eurasia Operators and Forwarders (GETO), Werner Albert vigorously fought for, and achieved, future-oriented solutions and strongly advocated mutual trust between the railway companies involved. He enjoyed international recognition in the transport and logistics industry and was awarded numerous honours.  

He was also very engaged in social projects through his charity foundation for traumatised children.
The TransInvest Group mourns the loss of a great supporter, advisor and friend and extends its heartfelt condolences to the family. The employees will always treasure him in honor.
