Militzer & Münch expands network in Germany

|   M&M

St. Gallen, 15 May 2018. The Militzer & Münch Group opened a new location in Germany. A few weeks ago, the branch office at Sprockhövel near Wuppertal in North Rhine-Westphalia was taken into operation, to offer international logistics services also to customers in this region. The focus of the activities is on transports to the Balkans; however, Sprockhövel serves all other destinations via road, air and sea, too.

The Militzer & Münch team in Germany can already boast a new major contract: for an internationally operating DIY chain, Militzer & Münch supplies stores in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia. The team at Sprockhövel organizes the entire supply chain from pick-up to delivery and also handles returns. The team has specialized in the Balkans for years, and provides consultation to customers also at the new location.

The Militzer & Münch network in Germany comprises 16 locations – which allows Militzer & Münch to cover all major logistics regions in the Federal Republic. Operating nine road and seven air & sea branch offices, the team is well-positioned and offers standard transports as well as all-in-one solutions including customs management. “Our employees have detailed market knowledge”, says Tom Rosman, Managing Director M&M Militzer & Münch GmbH. “For us, niche markets such as the Maghreb states or Central Asia are daily business. We have experts who develop customized logistics concepts for different industries.”

Above-average growth

The expansion of the network of locations is also due to last year’s good development.

“In the air and sea freight segment as well as in road transports we register above-average increases”, says Dr. Lothar Thoma, CEO M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG. “We owe this mainly to the high demand for transports to the Maghreb states and along the New Silk Road.”

This year, the focus is on the further development of traffics on the Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Turkey and Russia trade lanes. On these, and also on comprehensive logistics projects, the German team cooperates closely with the other country organizations of the Militzer & Münch Group.
